MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - After nearly two years at the Yuba County Government Center, the Yuba County Library is preparing to return to its renovated home at 303 Second St. in Marysville. The library announced that Friday, Oct. 30, will be its final day of service at the temporary location, 915 Eighth St., concluding with a trick-or-treat event.

The library has operated out of the Government Center since Nov. 5, 2024, while its original building has undergone its first major renovation since opening in the 1970s. The project includes expanded children's and teen areas, additional study and meeting spaces, accessibility improvements, updated technology, new furnishings and upgraded safety systems.

Library officials said the temporary closure will allow staff to move materials, install computers and workstations and prepare the renovated facility for the public. However, a reopening date has not yet been determined.

“We won’t be able to say until after we start putting the library back together,” library representatives told the Territorial Dispatch in an Oct. 21 email. “As soon as we have a firm reopening date, we will share it with the community.”

Additional updates will be available through the Yuba County Library.
