YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - A 19-year-old Yuba City man faces multiple weapons and domestic violence charges after allegedly assaulting a woman and threatening her with an AK-47 rifle during an argument Friday, Oct. 16.
Sutter County sheriff's deputies arrested Adrian Walters on suspicion of domestic battery, criminal threats, exhibiting a firearm and several weapons violations.
According to the Sutter County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a Yuba City residence following a report of domestic violence.
Investigators allege Walters pushed a woman during an argument before retrieving an AK-47 rifle from his vehicle. Walters allegedly displayed the rifle and made a threatening statement toward the woman before leaving the residence.
Deputies later located Walters at another residence and took him into custody.
During a search of that residence, which authorities conducted with consent, deputies discovered an AK-47 rifle inside a child's bedroom.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the rifle had no serial number and contained a large-capacity magazine. Deputies seized the weapon as evidence.
Authorities booked Walters into the Sutter County Jail on suspicion of domestic battery, criminal threats, exhibiting a firearm, possession of an unserialized assault weapon, possession of a firearm with a removed or altered serial number and possession of a large-capacity magazine.
He also faces allegations of resisting or obstructing a peace officer and providing false identification to an officer.
