NEVADA CITY, CA (MPG) - X Fest will return to the Miners Foundry Cultural Center on Friday, Oct. 23, for its third year, bringing two stages of live music along with art, food and activities for families.

Presented by KVMRx, this year's festival will feature Jazz Mafia as the mainstage headliner. The artist collective incorporates electro, hip-hop, world, classical and jazz influences into its performances.

Loud Flower, Beach Noise and CHERISHA will also perform on the mainstage during the festival.

A separate Lofi stage will feature live-beat sets and experimental music from A.E. Beats, Erozilla, El Din, Woodstock, Gr8, Dillinger and Ms. Vame.

Doors at the Miners Foundry will open at 4 p.m., with music beginning at 5 p.m. The festival continues until 10 p.m.

"We are thrilled to be back for our third year," X Fest Program Director Jai Hanes said. "X Fest is shaping up to become a staple of our local culture, and this year's lineup and vendor selection are bound to make it an incredible experience for the whole family."

Organizers have expanded activities beyond the musical performances. Food vendors and local merchants will be on site along with arts and crafts, vinyl record sellers and screen printing.

Children ages 11 and younger will receive free admission. Family activities will include a kids zone, face painting, arts and crafts and cotton candy.

A silk-screen printing area will also allow attendees to bring shirts, cloth bags and other suitable items to have designs printed during the festival.

The event will continue with an official after-party at The Fern in Nevada City. The after-party begins at 9 p.m. with DJ Mr. Resolution, followed by Virgobeats at 10:30 p.m. The event is scheduled to continue until 1:30 a.m.
