YUBA-SUTTER, CA (MPG) - Community organizations serving low-income residents in Yuba and Sutter counties have an opportunity to apply for funding for programs addressing homelessness, health care, food assistance and other basic needs.

The Sutter County Community Action Agency and Yuba County Community Services Commission are accepting proposals from qualified private nonprofit, public and faith-based organizations for 2027 Community Services Block Grant funding.

Approximately $240,000 is expected to be available through each county agency for distribution to local service providers, for a combined anticipated total of about $480,000.

The agencies identified three priority areas for the funding: homelessness prevention and reduction, access to health services, food and basic needs assistance.

Homelessness programs may include financial literacy and assistance with rent or deposits. Health services may include mental, behavioral and physical health care, along with alcohol and substance use services.

Organizations must submit proposals by noon Friday, Oct. 16. The agencies will not consider proposals received after the deadline.

Programs receiving funding will provide services from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027.
