YUBA COUNTY, CA (MPG) - The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office recently celebrated the retirement of Sgt. Tamara Pecsi, marking the end of a 25-year career serving the county.

Pecsi began with the department Jan. 8, 2001, as an extra-help deputy I and rose through the ranks, becoming sheriff’s sergeant-operations June 1, 2016. During her career, Pecsi served in a wide range of assignments, including K-9 deputy, detective, gang and narcotics detective, detective supervisor, field training officer, Crisis Negotiation Team supervisor, administrative sergeant, cadet adviser and Honor Guard coordinator.

The Sheriff’s Office credited Pecsi with playing an important role in mentoring new recruits and fellow deputies throughout her career, helping foster professional development within the department.

“Congratulations to Sgt. Pecsi on retirement,” the department shared in announcing her departure.
