YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - A citywide residential resurfacing project is underway in Yuba City, with road work expected to continue through November in neighborhoods throughout the city.

The project began Sept. 21 and includes dozens of residential streets divided among nine work areas. Planned improvements range from pavement repairs and slurry sealing to asphalt rubber cape sealing, a process that combines a chip seal with a slurry seal applied approximately one week later.

Streets included in the project stretch from neighborhoods near Butte House Road in north Yuba City to areas south of Lincoln Road. Among the roads scheduled for work are Madison Road, Clearview Drive, Darrough Drive, Civic Center Boulevard, Stafford Way, Pine Way, Neil Drive, Western Avenue, Park Avenue, Windsor Drive, Mariner Way and numerous surrounding residential streets.

According to the City of Yuba City, residents should generally receive about 48 hours' notice before work begins on their street. Construction is expected to take place primarily between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Vehicles will need to be removed from affected streets by 8 a.m. on scheduled workdays, and residents are encouraged to watch for temporary "No Parking" signs and door-hanger notices with additional instructions.

Street and driveway access may also be temporarily limited while crews are working. The city is asking residents to plan ahead for appointments, deliveries or other needs requiring vehicle access. Residents may notice loose rock or an unfinished-looking roadway between stages of cape seal work, which the city said is a normal part of the resurfacing process.

Construction schedules remain tentative and may change because of weather or other conditions.
