YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - The Yuba City Police Department is inviting community members to stop by Chai T Cafe on Wednesday, Aug. 5, for "Chai With a Cop," a community outreach event designed to encourage informal conversations between residents and local law enforcement.

The event will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. at Chai T Cafe, 1199 Butte House Road.

Unlike a public meeting or town hall, the gathering will not include presentations or scheduled topics. Instead, officers will be available to answer questions, listen to community concerns and visit with residents in a relaxed setting over a cup of chai.

Police officials say the event is intended to strengthen relationships between officers and the community through open conversation. Residents are encouraged to attend whether they have questions about policing, want to share feedback or simply meet the officers who serve Yuba City.

The event is open to all members of the public.
