LIVE OAK, CA (MPG) - A Marysville man remains wanted after a five-hour search by Sutter County Sheriff's deputies Wednesday night failed to locate him following a reported felony domestic violence incident in Live Oak.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the 9500 block of Richmond Way at about 6:30 p.m. July 29 after receiving a report of a domestic violence incident. The Sheriff's Office said the suspect, 23-year-old Andreus Routh of Marysville, fled on foot as deputies arrived.

Deputies established a containment perimeter after receiving reports that Routh was moving through residential backyards by jumping fences. The Sheriff's Office said deputies believed he could attempt to enter occupied homes or barricade himself while trying to avoid arrest.

Routh had prior firearm-related offenses and is known to carry firearms, the Sheriff's Office said. Because it was unknown whether he was armed during the incident, the Sheriff's Office activated its Special Enforcement Detail Team and requested assistance from area law enforcement agencies.

"Anyone who sees Andreus Routh should not approach or attempt to contact him," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "Due to his criminal history and known association with firearms, he should be considered potentially armed. Instead, immediately contact your local law enforcement agency or call 911."

During the search, the Sheriff's Office issued a CodeRED emergency notification advising residents in the surrounding neighborhood to shelter in place while deputies searched for the suspect. The agency said the notification was intended to protect residents and allow law enforcement to conduct the operation safely.

Despite the extensive operation, deputies did not locate Routh. The Sheriff's Office said detectives and patrol deputies continue to investigate the case and search for the suspect.
