FORBESTOWN, CA (MPG) – Members of the Community Center Advisory Council will elect a new slate of officers to and help guide the future of one of Forbestown's longtime community organizations.

The council, also known as the Forbestown Community Crew and Forbestown Action Committee, will hold its general meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Forbestown Hall, 19100 New York Flat Road.

Members in good standing from the previous calendar year are eligible to vote and be nominated for office. Positions open for election include president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and member-at-large.

The officer elections are required to maintain the organization's nonprofit 501(c)(3) status.

The Community Center Advisory Council organizes and supports community events at Forbestown Hall and Park in partnership with Feather River Recreation and Park District. In recent years, the group has hosted children's art and outdoor recreation days, a flea market, a community barbecue and a holiday craft and peddler's fair.

The organization also previously organized Forbestown Daze, a community fair and parade that drew visitors to the community for many years before it was last held in 2017.

Residents interested in learning more about the organization, the annual meeting or the election process may contact the group's secretary at 530-675-2114.
