MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Thousands flocked to downtown Marysville for another packed weekend of food, entertainment and family activities during the annual Marysville Peach Festival.

The free two-day event featured hundreds of vendors and exhibitors, with streets full of peach-themed foods, drinks, crafts and merchandise. By far, one of the most popular offerings this year was the peach cobbler milkshake from Everything's Just Peachy. Despite the midday heat, the novelty dessert attracted a line of customers that stretched nearly an entire block.

Carnival rides were also a popular new addition to the festival, joining longtime favorites such as the Sadorus Orchards fruit stand, live music and the annual peach pie-eating contest. Darren Myers claimed this year's pie-eating title.

From frozen peach treats and fresh fruit to music, contests and carnival rides, the festival once again gave visitors plenty of ways to celebrate one of the region's sweetest summer traditions.
