YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Another mural was added to Sutter County's growing artscape this month by local artist Madelyne Joan Templeton.
Templeton has completed more than a dozen mural projects throughout the region and is known for her illustrative style, nature-inspired themes and bright color palettes.
Her newest work, located outside the Artisan Community Garden at the Sutter County Museum, was designed to complement the atmosphere of the garden. The mural features local plants, insects and playful activities that children might enjoy while visiting a community garden.

Templeton was assisted by Richard Jacobo, a Sacramento-based concept and character design artist. The project was made possible through support from the Sutter County Children & Families Commission and the Sutter County Museum Association, along with a donation made in memory of Karen Price.
To celebrate the mural's completion, the museum hosted an art-themed garden day July 10. The free event featured painting projects, leaf artwork and a special activity led by Templeton inspired by the new mural. The Sutter County Museum encourages residents to visit the garden and view its newest addition during regular museum hours or at an upcoming Fun Friday event.
Fun Friday events are held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Artisan Community Garden outside the Sutter County Museum, 1333 Butte House Road in Yuba City.
