Yuba City Man Arrested After Shooting

YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - A Yuba City man was arrested after Sutter County Sheriff's deputies investigated a report of threats involving a firearm on the evening of July 4.

Deputies responded at about 8 p.m. to the 600 block of Allen Way after receiving a 911 call reporting threats involving a firearm. What began as a report of threats developed into an extensive investigation as deputies secured the scene, interviewed multiple witnesses, collected evidence and worked through conflicting statements.

During the investigation, deputies determined that shots had been fired during an altercation between two individuals.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, deputies recovered a .45 caliber Springfield XD handgun believed to have been used in the incident, along with additional evidence.

Gregory Fitch, 46, of Yuba City was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail on multiple firearm and felony possession-related charges.

No deputies or members of the public were injured during the incident.
