YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Residents will have an opportunity to meet local artists and explore a wide variety of original artwork during the Art Box Marketplace Reception on Friday, July 10, at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts.

Hosted by Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture, the free reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts, 754 Plumas St. Guests can enjoy complimentary refreshments while visiting with many of the artists whose work is featured in the Art Box Marketplace.

The Art Box Marketplace serves as both a gallery and gift shop, offering one of the region's largest collections of locally created artwork. The selection includes paintings, photography, ceramics, stained glass, jewelry, textile art, greeting cards, journals and handcrafted gifts in a variety of styles and price ranges.

The current exhibition features work by Beverly Cameron-Fildes, Trey Anderson, Kathy Locke, Kathy Childers, Drew Sallee, Katie Strauss and photographer Cameron Kersting. During the reception, participating artists will be available to discuss their work, creative process and artistic inspiration with visitors.

Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture said the Art Box Marketplace supports regional artists while making original artwork accessible to the community. Sales from the Marketplace benefit both participating artists and the nonprofit's arts programming.

The Art Box Marketplace is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as before performances and during special events at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts.
