SUTTER, CA (YSBC) - Four local football teams ended the final weekend of June improving with one snap at a time as the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section dead period began on Wednesday, July 1.
Sutter Union High School hosted an eight-team camp that included local teams that included Lindhurst, East Nicolaus and Wheatland.
Huskies head coach Ryan Reynolds expressed to Yuba Sutter Butte Colusa Sports that the goal of the camp sponsored by Fit1 Velocity Football is to get better.

Reynolds added that this is the 25th-straight season Sutter has hosted a camp.
“We go to two camps every summer,” Reynolds said.
The Huskies went up and competed in the Humboldt Camp from June 19-21.
The camp at Sutter consisted of multiple competitions and team-building exercises.

Reynolds said the best part of the camps consists of competitions such as tug-of-war and quarterback accuracy drills between the schools as it builds camaraderie.
He added that all of the coaches talk strategy and throw ideas off one another.
“The best part at the end of the day is when we all come together and share the relaxing time to bond with one another," Reynolds said.
As the Huskies and all other SJS teams have their dead period from July 1-15, which consists of all-school sponsored athletic activities being suspended, it is a time for everyone to refuel before a grueling season looms.
