New Civil Grand Jury Begins Service

MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Nineteen members of the 2026-27 Yuba County Civil Grand Jury took the oath of office Thursday, beginning a new term of service as independent citizen watchdogs over local government.
Yuba County Superior Court Judge Stephen Berrier administered the oath during a swearing-in ceremony June 25.
The court recognized the service of the outgoing 2025-26 Civil Grand Jury, thanking Foreperson Michael Scully-Linder and members Steven Elliott, Christopher Kashuba, Richard Langille, Johnny Magann, Molly McKay and Jessica McAleer for their commitment to transparency, accountability and good government.
Seven jurors will continue serving for a second term, providing experience and continuity to the new panel. Returning members are Debie Adams, Julia Green, Lawrence Gregory, Doris Luther, Pamela Maxwell, Greg Petersen and JR Sannizzaro.
Civil grand jurors serve as independent citizen watchdogs who review local government operations and issue recommendations intended to improve public services and strengthen public trust throughout Yuba County.
The 2026-27 Civil Grand Jury includes Debi Adams, Julia Green, Lawrence Gregory, Doris Luther, Pamela Maxwell, Greg Petersen, JR Sannizzaro, Robert Coker Jr., Kenneth Wiens, Mary Jane Mathews, Kimberly Swenson, Bruce Adams III, Robert Kimball, Amy Freeman, Deena Chavez, Darcy Knox, Joseph Rapp, Connie Baker and Michael Williams.
The court also named 19 alternates for the new term: Michael Williamson, Jessica Orlandi, Keith Hambright, Tara Cruz, Danielina Ashley, Timothy Shaw, Samantha Holland, Crystal Crittenden, Wendy Weaver, Joel Lance Sr., Petra Campos, Tina Jackson, Richard Villalpando, Clifton Morris, Christine Beermann, Frank Cobarrubio, Jennifer Chung, Quenette Freeman and Katherine Thomas.
