Freebirds Late Rally Tops Mobiles

MARYSVILLE, CA (YSBC) - The Yuba-Sutter Freebirds rallied late on Saturday, June 13 when they defeated the RedPocket Mobiles 12-11.
This was the fourth one-run game of the week that Yuba-Sutter and RedPocket have played in a close series.
Freebirds starting pitcher Riley Egloff was unsuccessful to make it through the first inning on the rubber as he displayed illness and was removed with one out.

Egloff surrendered four runs off two hits in the six batters he faced.
The Mobiles had scored at least four runs in three of the first five games of the series against Yuba-Sutter.
Egloff was relieved by Dylan McCall. This was the second time that McCall has been called on for an early relief appearance in the series.
McCall tossed 4 ⅔ innings where he allowed four runs off four hits and three strikeouts.
YS closed the gap in the fourth as they hit three run-batted-in singles.

In the fifth, Mobiles outfielder Hector Nieves hit a two-run home run and extended the RedPocket lead 6-3.
Nieves hit for the cycle in the loss on Saturday as he had four hits and five RBIs.
The Mobiles expanded their lead by a few more runs in the sixth for a 10-4 lead.
The Freebirds scored a couple runs in the bottom half of the inning as outfielder Andrew Bergeron jolted the YS dugout with a solo shot.
Bergeron got on base during all five of his plate appearances in the win that included three total hits and two RBIs.
Freebirds outfielder Cam Yuran cashed in on his only hit of the game with an RBI single and cut the RedPocket deficit 10-6.

After the mobiles added a run in the seventh, it was all YS at the plate for the rest of the game as outfielder Kendall Foster walked in a run with the bases loaded.
The Freebirds scored five runs in the eighth and took a one-run lead when Bergeron hit an RBI single to right for the 12-11 lead.
YS reliever Tristan Wolf came in and secured his second save of the series against RedPocket.
The game ended on a steal attempt by Mobiles outfielder Ravaughn Morgan as he was thrown out by a perfect throw from Freebirds catcher Diego Aragon.
On top of the stellar defensive play by Aragon, he also went 3-for-4 from the plate, including the game tying two-RBI double in the eighth.
YS finished off the series with a 7-1 defeat against the Mobiles and will play a three-game set at Modesto on Tuesday night with first pitch at 6:35 p.m.
