Marysville Police Respond to 2,102 Calls in May

MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - The Marysville Police Department responded to 2,102 calls for service and completed 315 police reports during May, according to department statistics released this week.
Police officials said officers, dispatchers, community service officers and Animal Care Services staff handled a wide variety of incidents throughout the month, ranging from violent crimes and traffic enforcement to property crimes and quality-of-life concerns.
Among the reported violent crimes were one attempted murder investigation, one sexual assault, nine assault and battery cases, four domestic violence incidents, three robberies and two shots-fired calls. Officers also responded to 53 verbal or physical fights.
Traffic-related activity accounted for a significant portion of calls. Police conducted 165 traffic and bicycle stops, responded to 54 traffic collisions and handled 24 reckless driving complaints. Officers also investigated 13 hit-and-run incidents and made 13 DUI-related contacts.
Property crime calls included 11 thefts or burglaries and 12 vandalism reports. Dispatchers also received 59 alarm calls and coordinated 80 location close patrols.

Police also handled 104 community service officer calls, 87 lobby calls and citizen assists, 70 follow-up investigations, 58 animal services calls and 22 juvenile-related incidents.
