YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Professional bull riding will take center stage at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds on Sunday, May 17, as the Feather Falls Casino Sutter Buttes Showdown brings a PRCA-sanctioned event to the region.

Organizers said the event will begin at 4 p.m. and feature 40 professional riders competing against top bulls for prize money and points toward the National Finals Rodeo.

Event organizer Chad Denton, a retired professional bull rider, said the competition aims to deliver a higher level of entertainment than a traditional rodeo.

“This isn’t your average community rodeo,” Denton said. “This is a high-energy, action-packed event designed to keep thrill seekers on the edge of their seats.”

Tickets include limited ringside VIP seating and general grandstand admission. Organizers said tickets are available online at bustedupproductions.com.

The weekend will begin with a Rodeo Pre-Party and Calcutta event at 6 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Stassi’s 4th Ward in Marysville. The event will allow fans and sponsors to meet riders and participate in the Calcutta ahead of the competition.

Organizers said a limited number of sponsorship opportunities remain available. Those interested can contact Kary Hauck at 530-844-2358 or Chad Denton at 530-521-3965.

The Sutter Buttes Showdown is expected to draw rodeo fans from across the Yuba-Sutter area for an afternoon of professional competition.
