Sutter Shooters Win State Titles

STOCKTON, CA (MPG) - Sutter High School’s varsity and junior varsity skeet teams won first-place state titles at the CYSSA Skeet State Championship on Sunday in Stockton.
The Sutter junior team also placed third in the series shoots leading up to the state championship.
Logan Munger led the varsity field, earning first-place state champion honors with a score of 148 out of 150. Munger also competed on a varsity squad with Garrett Bartels and Manny Moulton that placed second overall.
The varsity championship team included Logan Munger, Garrett Bartels, Manny Moulton, Garrett Jarvis, Tyler Fletcher, Ceasar Moulton, Macie Mobley, Dixie Bybee, Jonathan Mendez and Nicolas Miller.
The junior varsity first-place team included Landon McCracken, Jayson Amarel, Brock Moody, Trevor Munger, Hunter Berry, Trusten Dentzer, Aidan Jewell, Logan Watson and Bailey Crabtree.
Sutter’s junior shooters team featured Logan McCracken, Kimber Benzel and Kailey Crabtree. Benzel placed third in the Intermediate Entry division. Benzel and Crabtree also teamed to take second place in the Intermediate Entry squad classification.
Head coach Dave Samson praised the team’s performance.
“It was a great day of great performances by all on the team in all classifications,” Samson said. “As the head coach I cannot be prouder of this team.”
