SUTTER, CA (YSBC) - The Sutter Huskies baseball team completed the second-straight series sweep as they beat the Casa Roble Rams 7-6 on Friday, March 27.

Casa Roble took an early lead in the top of the first as Sutter senior pitcher Aiden Zwissig struggled to find the strike zone within the first couple hitters of the game.

Zwissig recovered and the Rams managed to get one run across the board, but the Huskies answered quickly in the bottom frame of the first as senior infielder Blake Agger grounded out to third and scored junior infielder Cole Callison.

Zwissig pitched 4 2/3 innings during the win and surrendered five runs off eight hits.

Big blasts’ off the bats from Sutter’s Dallan Duncan and Karter Johnson back-to-back home runs extended the Huskies lead during the bottom of the third.

The Rams tied it up in the fifth as Zwissig surrendered three-straight hits and an error before he was relieved by senior pitcher Dwight Walker.

Walker tossed an inning in the victory over Cass Roble where he gave up the lead in the top of the sixth off of one of the four Huskies’ errors during the game.

In the bottom of the sixth, Sutter junior catcher Landyn Singh lifted the Huskies back into the lead after shattering a ball over the right-field fence for a 7-6 advantage.

Singh’s home run was the 13th time a ball has left the yard off a Sutter bat this year, which is two behind the entire total from the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Sutter senior Sullivan Pardee tossed the final inning and a third after relieving Walker in the sixth.

The Huskies are competing in San Diego’s annual Lions Baseball tournament this week.

Sutter head coach Stewart Peterson told Yuba Sutter Butte Colusa Sports that he wants to see his team continue playing good baseball.

The Huskies saw a lot of different variety between their four games of playing upper-level competition throughout the week.

Sutter began the Lions tournament on Monday against Hilltop (Chula Vista).
