MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Residents and commuters in Marysville may have noticed traffic delays along Ellis Lake Drive in recent days as construction gets underway on a water infrastructure upgrade project led by California Water Service (Cal Water).
The project, which began the week of March 23, will install approximately 1,980 feet of new 12-inch water main along Ellis Lake Drive between 14th Street and 1730 Ellis Lake Drive. The improvements are intended to enhance water supply reliability and fire protection in the area.
Construction is taking place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and is expected to last approximately 10 to 12 weeks. Crews are working to minimize traffic disruptions during the project. As part of the work, water lines will be flushed periodically, and water quality samples will be collected to meet safety requirements. Cal Water officials said flushing will be conducted only as long as necessary.
Temporary service interruptions may occur when customer connections are transferred to the new main. Customers will be notified in advance of any planned shutdowns. Following installation, temporary asphalt paving will be applied until permanent paving is completed, which may occur up to 30 days after the project concludes to allow for proper ground compaction.
Cal Water said any streets, sod and landscaping affected by construction will be restored as close as possible to their original condition. Customers with questions can contact Cal Water at 530-624-4103 (text messages accepted) or by email at [email protected].
