Whitney Awarded Police Commendation Ribbon

YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - The Yuba City Police Department has awarded Reserve Officer Nick Whitney the Police Individual Commendation Ribbon in recognition of his service during 2025. Whitney, who joined the department in 2011, was recognized for his dedication and reliability while serving in a variety of roles within the agency.

In addition to patrol duties, Whitney previously served as an operator on the department’s SWAT team and has assisted with numerous warrant and prisoner transports, including long-distance and out-of-state assignments. According to the department, Whitney has also contributed to the development of newer reserve officers by mentoring them and helping them understand their responsibilities.

The Police Individual Commendation Ribbon is awarded to officers who demonstrate diligence, teamwork and commitment to their department and community.
