YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - The Yuba Sutter Symphony will present its Spring Fling Pops Concert on Saturday, March 28, with performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1390 Franklin Road in Yuba City.

Conductor Corey Kersting said the orchestra scheduled two performances again this year because the concert has drawn strong attendance from audiences of all ages. The program will also feature the Twin Rivers Charter School choirs, directed by Jim Achilles.

“The Pops Concert is very popular with people of all ages, so we are again offering two performances this year,” Kersting said. “The Twin Rivers Charter School choirs have been so well received that we invited them back to perform with the Symphony.”

The concert will highlight music from well-known television programs. Selections include themes from “Mission: Impossible,” “The Magnificent Seven,” “Star Trek,” “The Pink Panther” and “The Muppet Show.”

Kersting said the program will feature recognizable melodies from classic cartoons and prime-time television shows.

“This concert features iconic television themes,” Kersting said. “From classic cartoons to prime-time favorites, the music offers an entertaining journey through television history.”

The Yuba Sutter Symphony is part of the Yuba Sutter Oratorio Society, which has presented music in the region for more than 85 years. Concerts are free and open to the public, with donations accepted to support the organization’s programs.
