YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Kathy Scriven has announced her candidacy for Sutter County Assessor, citing more than two decades of experience working in assessor’s offices and a commitment to fair and accurate property assessments.

Scriven currently serves as the Sutter County Assessor. During her time in the office, she has worked to improve internal operations, including assisting with the implementation of a new property assessment system aimed at increasing efficiency and improving service for taxpayers.

Scriven holds a Master of Business Administration and has built a reputation for professionalism, accuracy and responsiveness in the assessor’s office.

With more than 23 years of experience in property assessment and the day-to-day operations of an assessor’s office, Scriven said her background has prepared her to continue leading the department and serving Sutter County residents.

“I care deeply about this community and the people we serve,” Scriven said. “With my experience and knowledge of the Assessor’s Office, I am committed to ensuring property assessments are fair, accurate and transparent for all Sutter County residents.”

Scriven has lived in the Yuba-Sutter area for nearly 40 years. Her family moved to the region when her father was stationed at Beale Air Force Base. Aside from a short time away for college, she has lived in the community ever since.

The Sutter County Assessor’s Office is responsible for determining the value of all taxable property in the county for property tax purposes.
