SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) - The Sutter County Children & Families Commission has launched a new Fatherhood Engagement Initiative aimed at promoting the role of fathers in early childhood development.
The countywide public awareness campaign focuses on fathers of children ages zero to five and highlights how early involvement supports healthy growth and family stability. The campaign is currently visible through ads at a local movie theater, billboards throughout Sutter County and social media outreach.
All campaign materials feature local fathers from across the county and show everyday interactions between dads and their young children. Organizers said the goal is to present positive and relatable images that reflect a range of family experiences.
“Fatherhood matters, from the very beginning,” said Michele Blake, executive director of the Sutter County Children & Families Commission. “When fathers are engaged in their children’s lives during the earliest years, it strengthens families, supports healthy development and helps children thrive.”
The initiative aligns with the commission’s strategic plan and its ongoing focus on family engagement, early childhood development and equitable access to services. Officials said the campaign is designed to encourage involvement and connection while reinforcing support systems for families.
The commission serves as Sutter County’s local First 5 agency and works to improve outcomes for young children and their families through education, outreach and community partnerships.
