MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Adventist Health and Rideout has been designated a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center for Bariatric Surgery, a recognition awarded to hospitals that meet national standards for quality, safety and patient outcomes in weight-loss surgery.
The designation is based on objective, evidence-based criteria developed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in collaboration with clinical experts and medical organizations. Hospitals earning the distinction demonstrate consistent performance in surgical outcomes, patient care and program structure.
According to the health system, the recognition reflects the work of its bariatric surgery team and its focus on coordinated, long-term care for patients undergoing weight-loss procedures.
“This designation reflects the exceptional work of our bariatric team and the comprehensive care they provide,” said Dr. Arturo Garcia, director of metabolic and bariatric surgery at Adventist Health and Rideout. “It reinforces our commitment to improving health outcomes for our patients.”
