SUTTER COUNTY, CA. (MPG) - The Sutter County Probation Department announced Feb. 4 that 10 local parents completed the Parent Project, a 10-week parenting program focused on supporting families with strong-willed children.
The program provides practical tools to help parents manage challenging behavior while improving communication and strengthening family relationships. Course topics include positive discipline, consistent structure in the home and effective communication skills.
Participants also learned strategies to support school success and explored the difference between influence and control in parenting. Probation officials said some parents entered the program with skepticism but reported increased confidence and appreciation for the approach by the end of the course.
The department congratulated the graduates and encouraged other families to consider future sessions. Parent Project classes are offered in English and Spanish.
