YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Skylight Renewable Energy awarded $7,500 to two nonprofit organizations serving Sutter County through its fourth-quarter 2025 Community Giving Program.
The funding supported SAYLOVE and Yuba-Sutter Gleaners Food Bank, both of which provide direct services to residents across the region.
SAYLOVE received $5,000 to support its monthly community cleanups throughout Sutter County. The volunteer-led efforts include illegal dump-site abatement, litter removal, beautification projects and neighborhood revitalization.
“Support from Skylight Renewable Energy allows us to deepen our impact in the communities we serve,” said Jeff Stephens, founder and president of SAYLOVE. “It’s an investment in cleaner public spaces and stronger communities.”
The Yuba-Sutter Gleaners Food Bank received $2,500 to purchase food for distribution through its network of 50 partner agencies in Yuba and Sutter counties. The organization serves about 40,000 individuals each month.

“Community support like this is essential to our ability to fight hunger in Yuba and Sutter counties,” said Maria Ball, executive director of the food bank. “Skylight Renewable Energy’s generosity helps us provide nutritious food to neighbors facing food insecurity.”
Skylight Renewable Energy is proposing a 100-megawatt solar facility paired with a 100-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system in Sutter County. Project representatives say the development is designed to deliver renewable energy while maintaining the area’s agricultural character.
“Skylight Renewable Energy is proud to recognize and support organizations that make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors,” said Peter Stockus, community affairs manager for the company.
The Skylight Renewable Energy Community Giving Program is open to organizations serving the Sutter County area. Applications for the next funding cycle are due Feb. 15.
