Wrong-Way Crash Kills Willows Man

SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) – A fatal traffic collision on State Route 70 near Striplin Road on Jan. 20 left one man dead and three others injured, including an infant.
The California Highway Patrol said that after reviewing video evidence, a red Toyota Corolla made a U-turn and stopped wrong way, positioned northbound in the southbound lanes of State Route 70.
The red Toyota Corolla collided with a white Volkswagen Tiguan traveling southbound.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities identified the deceased as Miguel Sigala-Flores, 23, of Willows.
The driver of the Volkswagen Tiguan sustained major injuries. An infant passenger in the Tiguan was properly restrained and suffered moderate injuries, according to authorities.
Fog was present in the area at the time of the collision, the CHP said. The investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.
The CHP urges motorists to call 9-1-1 immediately if they see a suspected wrong-way driver.
