MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Hundreds of people filled D Street on Saturday evening for the annual Marysville Christmas Parade, which embraced this year’s theme, “Blue Christmas,” with Elvis impersonators, Disney’s Stitch characters and plenty of creative, blue-themed displays.
“I thought it was really cool because two families just entered — they just wanted to be part of the parade,” said parade organizer Kary Hauk. “We also have the group that painted City Hall coming, and they’re handing out gifts — actual wrapped gifts to kids. And I think Wendy’s Car Club is doing Hot Wheels for all the kids. There’s just so much cool stuff being handed out this year.”

Nearly 100 entries participated, including several first-time groups such as the Yuba Area Bicycle Advocates (YABA). Other standout floats included the competitive soccer club Elite FC, Extra Self Storage, the Marysville Stampede Rodeo Queens, and the Browns Valley 4-H Club, whose jaw-dropping recreation of Disney’s Frozen castle — complete with an Olaf snowman — drew cheers from the crowd.
The parade also brought steady foot traffic to local businesses along D Street, where a handful of storefronts stayed open to welcome attendees.
“We do enjoy these events,” said Jennifer Young, owner of Moonmajik Creations. “People have been floating in and out, and it’s just a good time.”
