SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) – Caltrans is preparing to activate the new traffic signal at the intersection of State Route 99 (SR 99) and Oswald Road the first week in December.
Crews are scheduled to turn on the signal Thursday, Dec. 4. Once activated, the barriers will be removed, and Oswald Road will be back open to traffic.
The signal is part of a $15.8 million safety project to improve operations and reduce collisions at this busy rural intersection. Improvements include the new traffic signal, signalized left-turn lanes and new striping designed to enhance safety for local residents, commuters and agricultural drivers.
Caltrans appreciates the community’s patience as this important safety upgrade nears completion.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
