MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Thirteen area FFA graduates earned the American FFA Degree, the National FFA Organization’s highest recognition for members who stay engaged after high school and advance their leadership, scholarship and supervised agricultural experience.

The degree was conferred at the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo on Nov. 1. Each recipient received a gold American FFA Degree key and a certificate.

Honorees are Alex Huerta, Claira Goss, Jacob Flavell, Taelynn Demott, Christian Cisneros, Ava Carberry and Makenna Book of Marysville FFA; Helen Repka and Katharine Gallagher of Yuba City FFA; and Braden Smith, Layla O’Connor, Luke Long and Morgan Fowler of Grass Valley–Bear River FFA.

The American FFA Degree is a capstone. Candidates complete and document a supervised agricultural experience, remain active in FFA beyond graduation, meet scholarship standards, show leadership and contribute service to their chapters and communities.
