YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Things have finally come full circle for Amanda Thompson and Autumn Klein, owners of Yuba City’s newest coffee shop. Full Circle Coffee officially opened its doors on Oct. 4, just in time for the return of the Plumas Street Car Show.
“We had been hoping to open three months before that, but some of the permitting took longer than we thought,” explained Klein. “But we knew we had to be open for the Car Show. We did not want to have our blinds still in the windows with all these people walking past us.”
In the weeks leading up to the grand opening, the shop’s strong social media presence helped build excitement. By the time the doors opened, customers were pouring in from morning to evening, sharing glowing reviews across multiple platforms. The shop has remained busy ever since, with only a slight lull on Wednesday afternoons.

Customers fill the bright, bohemian-style interior of Full Circle Coffee in downtown Yuba City. The open layout, leafy décor, and natural light reflect the homey, welcoming atmosphere the owners envisioned.
“This is exactly what I dreamed,” said Thompson. “I just want to say what an amazing community Yuba City is, not only do they show up, but they’ve just been so gracious and following us and really inspiring us and come with wonderful comments. It’s been a lot of support.”
While entrepreneurial at heart, neither Klein nor Thompson had previously opened a brick-and-mortar business. Klein brought several years of experience managing operations at a Target Starbucks, while Thompson had worked as a Dutch Bros manager. She originally planned to open her own Dutch Bros location but ultimately changed direction after corporate ownership policies shifted.
“I became a stay-at-home mom for two years almost, and during that time I was just itchin’ to do something for myself,” said Thompson. “Originally I was going to try and open up a yoga studio, that was in Roseville, and it just wasn’t right, and during that process this came up on the market.”
Thompson had already been renting out the back kitchen with her mother-in-law to make protein bars, so she was familiar with the property owner. When they first inquired about the space, they were told it had already been sold. But the next day, after that deal fell through, they were given a second chance.

Baristas prepare drinks at Full Circle Coffee beneath the shop’s handcrafted menu board, featuring espresso classics and specialty beverages such as golden milk lattes, smoothies and matcha.
“Our realtor was like, ‘You guys are the biggest underdogs, they want a strong offer with business background, which we didn’t really have … and then we got accepted,’” said Klein.
“It felt like it was meant to happen,” added Thompson. “We were all on the phone and were like, ‘Oh, what a full circle moment’ — and that’s how we got our name.”
Located at 725 Plumas Street, formerly the site of Sayers Sweet Spot, Full Circle Coffee sits in the heart of downtown Yuba City. The open, airy interior features a bohemian design with green foliage, cozy lighting and soft cushions that echo the earthy tones of Thompson’s own home — a look that has already drawn plenty of compliments from customers.
Full Circle Coffee is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, visit Full Circle Coffee on social media or email [email protected].
