YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Fairies, folklore and free entertainment returns to Downtown Yuba City on Saturday, Oct. 25, as Canopy Productions presents the third annual Folk in the Fall Music Festival, a free street fair running from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. along Center Street near Plumas.
The event will feature more than 30 musical acts on three stages, along with art installations, vendor booths and family-friendly attractions. Folk in the Fall blends Americana, acoustic and folk-inspired genres with experimental performances that “push the boundaries of what folk can be.” The festival also embraces the magic of folklore, myths and legends, encouraging attendees to dress up as mermaids, fairies or other mystical characters to enhance the ambiance.

Performances will take place on three stages — the Strawberry Jam Stage inside Steele House Coffee, the Sunflower Community Stage on Plumas Streetand the Lost Treasure Stage by Sutter Buttes Brewing’s Beer Garden. The lineup includes both local and touring artists such as Jeff Martin, Macey Mae and The Lazy Days, Ken Hill, Troubadour Terry, Sebastian Rider, and Faire, along with student performances from the Institute of Rock and Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts. There will also be improv acts and a preview of The Acting Company’s “Pirates of Penzance.”
The festival will feature a lively beer garden hosted by Sutter Buttes Brewing, along with a whimsical Mermaid Lounge and Fairy Forest for guests to explore. Families can enjoy a kids’ zone with games, coloring tables, inflatables and art activities, while raffle prizes sponsored by Habitat for Humanity, Jeff Malani, Sacred Earth Apothecary, E&J’s Music, and other local businesses add to the community spirit. A portion of proceeds will benefit Creative Thinkers, a local nonprofit offering youth arts classes and professional training in music, performance and creative media.
