YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - The Yuba Sutter Symphony under the direction of Maestro Corey Kersting will present their Fall Classics Concert on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. and Sunday Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1390 Franklin Road, Yuba City.  The concert will feature Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2, Copland’s Outdoor Overture and Vivaldi’s Concerto for Oboe in A minor.

Guest soloist for the concert will be Dr. Lupita Ramos playing the oboe. Ramos grew up in the Colusa area and was once a winner of the Yuba Sutter Symphony’s Young Artist Competition.

“We are very pleased to have Dr. Ramos as our featured soloist this year,” said President of the Yuba Sutter Oratorio Society's YS Symphony and Chorus Chris Kersting. “Lupita performed with us as a Young Artist Competition winner back in 2013, and we are excited to have her back to perform in our community again.”

The concert will also include works by Sibelius and Copland.

“These two orchestral pieces are full of energy, beauty, passion and joy,” said Kersting. “These pieces, along with the Vivaldi Oboe Concerto, are sure to create a memorable and inspiring evening of music!”

Both concerts are free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
