YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) – Over the past 10 matches, which spans a total of five seasons, the Yuba City volleyball team has had River Valley’s number, but things changed last Thursday night when Falcons held off the Honkers in a Foothill Valley League contest to earn the 27-25, 25-17, 33-31 victory.
As she has for much of this year, Jada Barr led River Valley with a double-double that included 16 kills and 18 digs, while Parveen Takhar added 13 kills on the attack and Alexa Campos handed out 31 assists.

The River Valley Falcons celebrate a point in their first win over Yuba City since 2019.
For the Falcon defense, Emylee Hull made an impact finishing with a team-high 20 digs, Campos tallied 14 as did Valeria Correa.
Although Yuba City did not go down without a fight, no statistics were made available.
Prior to their win over the Honkers, River Valley fell 18-25, 17-25, 13-25 to Foothill Valley League rival Roseville on Sept.16.
Barr had nine kills and eight digs, both which were team highs, while Campos finished with 12 assists.

River Valley’s Emylee Hull serves during the Falcons’ match against Yuba City on Sept. 18.
Now sitting fourth in the FVL, the Falcons (6-8, 2-2) traveled to Orland for a non-conference match on Sept. 24, before returning home for a league match against Del Campo the following evening.
Meanwhile, fifth place Yuba City (3-8, 1-2) was in Sacramento to take on Del Campo on Tuesday and at home on Thursday to play Placer.
