Marysville Christmas Parade Returns For 74th Year with “Blue Christmas” Theme

MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - The 74th annual Marysville Christmas Parade will bring holiday cheer to the Yuba-Sutter community on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m. Presented by the City of Marysville, this year’s theme is “Blue Christmas.”

Staging begins near 6th & D Streets. The parade will travel south on D Street to 2nd Street, turn east on 2nd Street, then north on C Street, and conclude at 5th & C Streets.

The Yuba-Sutter Veterans Stand Down will lead the parade as this year’s Grand Marshal.

Santa will wave to spectators from atop a Marysville Fire Truck, and his elves will pass out candy canes along the route for children.

Entry fees are $25 for nonprofit organizations; $50 for commercial businesses and organizations without active IRS nonprofit status.

The weekend schedule for the Marysville Christmas celebration kicks off on Friday, Dec. 5. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with the Annual Lighting of the Marysville Christmas Tree at the park located at 3rd & D Streets. Simultaneously, from 5 to 9 p.m., the Candy Cane Lane Vendor Fair will take place along D Street, featuring a Character Parade and a donation drive benefiting SoYouCan. At 6 p.m., Santa will make his arrival at the 3rd & D Streets park to greet children and take photos.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, downtown Marysville will begin street closures at 2 p.m. in preparation for the 74th Annual Marysville Christmas Parade, which will begin at 5 p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities are available now and close Nov. 19. Support the region’s longest-running holiday tradition and gain community visibility during the festive season.
