MERIDIAN, CA (MPG) - On Saturday, Sept. 13, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Sutter County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a mother in active labor at a residence on the 1100 block of 3rd Street in Meridian.
Sergeant Jeff Kohler, who was nearby, quickly responded to the scene. When he arrived, the mother was already on the phone with Yuba City Police Department Dispatch, receiving emergency medical instructions. With guidance from dispatch, Sergeant Kohler assisted the mother through the birthing process, and the baby was successfully delivered shortly after his arrival.
Medical personnel soon arrived, assessed both mother and child, and transported them to Adventist Health Rideout.
We are pleased to share that both mother and baby are healthy and doing well.
