YUBA COUNTY, CA (MPG) - On Saturday, Sept. 20, the third annual Yuba Foothills Food & Water Festival will be held at the Alcouffe Community Center at 9185 Marysville Road, Oregon House, 95962, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. There is a $5 parking fee.

This year, the festival’s emphasis will be on experiences with food. Presentations and tastings include Coffee 101, Gourmet Mushrooms, Fine Wines, Apple Tasting, Wildflowers and Honey, Beer Tasting, Chocolate Tasting, Green and Purple Figs and Savoring Cheese.

Other demonstrations include Backyard Chickens and Canning Made Simple. There will be fruit pies, sweet bread, and jam competitions. Additional demonstrations will include natural farming, microscopic soil life and growing wheat.

Regarding water, one of the festival highlights, there will be presentations on well maintenance, well drilling, home water filters and tasting. Additional water-focused presentations will include water witching, garden irrigation and a special presentation on how irrigation water is delivered.

This year, entertainment will be provided by the Chicken Fried Cats Band.
