Tough Week for Falcon Volleyball

YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) – Last week was a tough one for the Falcons as they dropped subsequent matches to East Nicolaus, Pierce and Chico.
In Trowbridge on Aug. 25 to play the Spartans, who have lost just a single match thus far, River Valley finished on the short end of the 12-25, 23-25, 20-25 score.
Limited on the attack, Jada Barr and Parveen Takhar finished with five kills apiece and a combined three aces.

Alexa Campos made a team-high 18 digs, while Takhar accounted for 16.
Returning home the following evening, the Falcons were edged by Pierce 14-25, 25-21, 25-23, 21-25, 12-15 despite a monster effort from Barr who hit .370 for the match with 17 kills, then additionally finished with a team-high 31 digs.
Takhar also recorded a double-double with 22 kills and 19 digs as did Campos with 29 assists and 15 digs.
River Valley also got solid back row play from Kiera Farias and Valeria Correa who finished with 16 and 12 digs respectively.
To conclude last week, the Falcons entertained Chico where they put up another good effort before ultimately falling 25-27, 21-25, 25-18, 25-22, 9-15 to the Panthers.

Barr made good on 23 of 27 kill attempts to go along with 27 digs to lead the way, while Campos recorded 22 digs and Emylee Hull accounted for 18.
Looking to get back on track this week, River Valley (1-3) entertained Colusa on Tuesday, was in Woodland to play Pioneer on Wednesday before making its way to Sutter’s Battle in the Buttes Tournament on Saturday.
