WHEATLAND, CA (MPG) – The beloved Golden Autumn Wine Festival returns for its milestone 10th year at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland this fall. The annual wine tasting event has become a cherished tradition in the Yuba-Sutter-Colusa area, bringing together wine enthusiasts and community supporters.
"Celebrating our 10th anniversary feels incredible – this gathering has truly grown into a cornerstone event for our tri-county community," said Sarah Kotko, Board President of Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way. "What started as a fundraising event has evolved into something much more meaningful. It's become a place where neighbors connect, local businesses thrive, and we collectively support those who need it most in our region."
The festival offers an intimate wine tasting experience unique to the area, providing an opportunity for local residents to discover quality wines close to home.
"This isn't just about wine tasting – it's about building relationships and supporting our community," Kotko said. "When people purchase tickets, they're not just investing in a fun experience, they're investing in programs that build the resilience of our community and strengthen our neighborhoods."
The event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 7, at The Barn at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland. There will be two available sessions: the first from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the second from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Admission is $50 per person, and attendees must be 21 or older. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.yscunitedway.org.
For the 10th consecutive year, Bishop's Pumpkin Farm has generously donated their venue, and this milestone year is no different, but with an exciting new twist. This year's event has moved to the beautiful Barn at Bishop's, offering an elegant barn atmosphere with a beautiful shaded outdoor grassy area under mature trees.
As always, designated drivers aged 21+ are admitted free. And since the event coincides with the farm's opening weekend, there are no parking or admission fees to the farm, and all shops, rides, and displays will be open. Organizers anticipate a sold-out milestone anniversary celebration.
All net proceeds support Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way's mission of strengthening communities through effective partnerships. The organization works to align community needs with resources across Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa counties.
YSC United Way leads critical community initiatives including their exclusive Born Learning Academy – the only program of its kind in the region serving over 100 families a year– and spearheaded the coordination of our area's Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) network. Through leadership of the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Programs, the organization has brought $1.7 million in federal funding to the region over the last five years, along with hosting the annual Community Resource Fair connecting residents with nearly 100 local agencies. The organization annually handles over 500 phone calls and requests, serving as a bridge to connect people with rental assistance, utility help, food distribution locations, and other critical services provided by their 24 non-profit partner agencies.
The festival will feature up to 10 local wineries, including returning favorites and new additions. Specialty food vendors will also be present to complement the wine tasting experience.
Early purchase is recommended as organizers anticipate a sold-out event. For more information, visit www.yscunitedway.org.
