YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Yuba City’s beloved Concerts in the Park relaunched on Aug. 14 at Gauche Aquatic Park after nearly being cut due to city budget constraints. The series was saved thanks to the sponsorship of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain.
“We are big community sponsors, based and founded on music,” said Meghan McCarthy, Vice President of Operations for Hard Rock Sacramento. “This was a really important event to our community in Yuba City and the surrounding cities. A lot of people have enjoyed this over the years, including me, so when we heard the call that this needed some help, Hard Rock stepped in and our tribe stepped in to sponsor.”
While the series started later than usual this year, it continues the tradition of live music on Thursday evenings from 7to 9 p.m., running through Sept. 18. Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, dancing shoes and bug spray. Food trucks will be on-site offering dinner options.
The season kicked off with Keep on Truckin’ on Aug. 14, followed by the David Perez Band on Aug. 21. The upcoming lineup includes Industrial Drive on Aug. 28, Missing Gray on Sept. 4, Legacy on Sept. 11 and Whiskey Kronic on Sept. 18.
“We’re very excited to continue this for the community and look forward to all the performances,” said Ann Gillen, Community Services Director for Yuba City.
Concerts take place at Gauche Aquatic Park, 421 C Street, Yuba City. For more information, visit yubacity.net.
