YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - For the first time ever, the annual She Matters Women’s Conference is offering full admission free, thanks to generous sponsorships from local businesses in Yuba Sutter. The conference will take place Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22 and 23 at Hope Point Church, 600 N. George Washington Blvd.
Organizers emphasize that this weekend isn't just
an event, it’s a transformative experience centered on sisterhood, worship, and
living in God’s purpose. Attendees can expect powerful worship, inspiring
messages, deep connection and moments of spiritual renewal. As the conference
site notes, “You can’t step into the presence of God and leave the same.”
A Movement of Support and Celebration
This year’s shift to a free model was championed in part by Celeste Brown,
Business Development Director at the Yuba Sutter Chamber of Commerce, who
helped advise and secure critical sponsorships.
“I think it’s important that women be supported and recognized,” Brown said. “We already do so much, so it’s nice that we can have an event that pours back into women and takes the financial burden off.”
The annual conference is led by Hannah Maddalena, Hope Point’s Worship Pastor, Communications & Women’s Director, and founder of the She Matters movement. Over the past decade, she’s grown this gathering from a teen girls’ event into a powerful women’s ministry. Last year’s attendance exceeded 300 women, fostering an atmosphere of connection and spiritual renewal
The event will also feature a lineup of dynamic breakout speakers. Among them is Katie Rose Weissend, Pastor of Worship and Prayer at College Church in Olathe, Kansas, and Cesia Sanchez, a worship leader at Bethesda Church and theology student. Kiara Lee, a devoted mother and servant leader passionate about empowering women in faith, will share her perspective, alongside Tonya Smith, a longtime Hope Point volunteer and community mentor. Attendees will also hear from Julie Ely, a church planter and youth ministry leader with a background in counseling, and Amethyst Kurtz, a school psychologist whose powerful testimony speaks to overcoming adversity. With the financial barrier removed, the She Matters Conference opens its doors to more women than ever, whether attending solo or with friends. Registration is open at https://hopepointnaz.org/she-matters. Walk-ins are also welcome with registration available at the door.
