Sutter High Shotgun Team Shines at U.S. Open

SUTTER, CA (MPG) - The Sutter High School Shotgun Team delivered a standout performance at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas, earning multiple team and individual awards across all three shotgun disciplines, Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays.

The team’s consistent performance across events resulted in multiple podium finishes. In Junior Varsity Skeet, Sutter placed second as a team, while their Varsity squad secured third place in the same discipline. The Junior Varsity squad earned the top spot in Sporting Clays, becoming champions in that event. In Trap, the Junior Varsity team finished in second place, capping off an impressive all-around team effort.

Sutter’s squads also delivered standout performances. In Junior Varsity Skeet, the squad of Manny Moulton, Heston Burrow and Nicolas Miller took second place. In Sporting Clays, the Junior Varsity squad of Jacob Kiser, Heston Burrow and Landon McCracken earned third place. Another Junior Varsity squad made up of Manny Moulton, Connor Simpson and Nicolas Miller claimed the championship title with a first-place finish. The Varsity squad consisting of Ceasar Moulton, Garrett Bartels and Tyler Siller took second place in their division. In the Young Adult division, the squad of James Cooley, Dustin Wurm and Conrad Burrow also brought home a second-place finish.

Individual competitors from Sutter also stood out in their respective events. Manny Moulton earned third place individually in Junior Varsity Skeet. In Sporting Clays, Landon McCracken took third place in the Junior division, while Connor Simpson earned third in Junior Varsity and Garrett Bartels placed second in the Varsity division.

In Trap, the Junior Varsity squad of Manny Moulton, Connor Simpson, Nicolas Miller, Summer Anderson and Heston Burrow earned second place. Individually, Landon McCracken secured fourth place in the Intermediate Division after winning a tie-breaking shoot-off. In the Young Adult division, James Cooley competed in a shoot-off for first place and ultimately took home second.
