YUBA COUNTY, CA (MPG) - If it’s in our schools, it’s in our homes. This is the mantra of the Yuba County Tobacco Coalition, also known as the Community Health Action Team (CHAT), in its new campaign titled Air Out the Truth. The Community Health Action Team is a group of community leaders, organizations and residents working to effect positive and meaningful changes for the health of our community through tobacco education and laws.
The results of a current study conducted by the University of California, Davis and as reported in the recent article titled, “Disposable E-Cigarettes More Toxic Than Traditional Cigarettes,” by Kat Kerlin in the July 8, edition of the Territorial Dispatch is a strong example of the education the Community Health Action Team is hoping to achieve with the Air Out the Truth Campaign.
In collaboration with the Blue Zones Project, the Air Out the Truth campaign is designed to raise awareness about the rise of vaping and tobacco use among youth with a focus on educating parents and our community about what steps can be taken to keep our young people safe from the harm of tobacco. Utilizing social media, community partnerships and an interactive display at community events, the Community Health Action Team will work to educate and continue the conversation about the real dangers of vaping and tobacco use. With informed decision making, together we can protect the health of our community and children for generations to come. Because, what’s in our schools often ends up in our homes.
The Air Out the Truth Campaign can be viewed on social media via Facebook @Yuba County Tobacco Coalition and @Blue Zones Project Yuba Sutter.
