YUBA-SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) - The opening day of the Yuba-Sutter Fair is always a festive occasion, filled all kinds of activities for all ages groups.
It is a magical time for the community as they come together to celebrate all the fair activities as one community.
Upon entering the fairground, you will come to the cutest little racetrack lined with soft straw and some bleachers set up around it. The announcer grabs your attention and tells you about some tiny racing pigs as they line up at the starting gate in their cute, numbered jerseys ready to go.

Jumping hurdles held by a young volunteer, one little-piggy streaks around the track, stops at the hurdle and pauses, only to sneak under the hurdle and squeeze through a small gate, cheating and making it the finish line before the rest as the crown roars with laughter.
The second heat of racers is prepared with the four fastest pigs of the Alaskan Racers, and four lucky children were chosen from the crowd to pick their favorite pig and be its cheerleader.
As the second race begins, the racing pigs streak down the track with the children routing them on loudly. The winner is proudly acknowledged as the others are herded back into their resting areas and the show ends, this special moment during this country fair reminding those of simple rural fun.
