YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) - Convergence Theatre Company (CTC) presents a heartwarming classic at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts. Powered by Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture, Convergence Theatre Company is proud to present “Steel Magnolias”, the beloved Southern comedy-drama that celebrates friendship, resilience, and the fierce bond between women. The production runs June 13 through June 15, 20 to 22 and 27 to 29 at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts, 754 Plumas Street, Yuba City.

Directed by Cassie Fifield, this vibrant and moving production brings together a stellar cast of local talent including Paige Clements as the spirited and strong-willed Shelby, Janine Clements as her devoted and complex mother, M’Lynn, Lydia Crist as the sweet and searching Annelle, Crystal DeMeritt as the charming and sharp-witted Clairee, Wendi Jellsey as the unforgettable curmudgeon Ouiser and Tanda Phelps as the ever wise and welcoming Truvy.

Set in a small-town Louisiana beauty salon, “Steel Magnolias” explores the humor and heartbreak of life’s most unexpected turns, all seen through the eyes of six women whose friendships carry them through triumph and tragedy. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m., June 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. on June 15, 22 and 29. Doors will open 30 minutes before each performance.
