YUBA/SUTTER COUNTY, CA (MPG) - Yuba and Sutter counties will observe Memorial Day with two meaningful public events that honor the sacrifices of America’s military service members.

In Yuba City, A Grateful Nation Remembers returns with ceremonies on Sunday, May 25 and Monday, May 26, both starting at noon at Calvary Christian Center, 2620 Colusa Highway.

The program includes keynote speaker Kris “Tanto” Paronto, a former Army Ranger and Benghazi attack survivor, as well as inspirational veteran Dave Roever, whose story of survival and hope spans from the Vietnam War to today.

The tribute also features a six-panel Vietnam Wall replica, a full-scale Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, military reenactments and a post-Sept. 11 memorial wall.

Children’s activities will be available on May 25 for infants through fifth-grade and on May 26 for children up to age five.

Admission is free. More information is available at agratefulnationremembers.com or by calling 530-673-6035.

Meanwhile, in the town of Sutter, the Sutter Cemetery District will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on May 26 at 10 a.m. at 7200 Butte Ave. The ceremony includes a flag presentation, guest speakers and a solemn moment of remembrance. For more information, call 530-755-0346.

Together, these events offer residents powerful opportunities to reflect, connect and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
