YUBA CITY, CA (MPG) – Yuba City City Council has appointed Robert Bendorf as interim city manager, effective this week.

Yuba City Mayor Dave Shaw expressed his confidence in Bendorf’s extensive local government experience and looks forward to his contributions as the city prepares for a permanent city manager.

“We are pleased the council unanimously selected Robert to assist the city for the next several months,” Shaw said. “Robert brings a wealth of local government experience and has worked with dozens of local governments in California since his retirement, advising them on numerous aspects of operations and governance. We look forward to working with him.”

Bendorf will begin working with the current City Manager Diana Langley before her departure at the end of March and will assume full-time duties on April 2.

“I am excited to work with the council, its executive team, employees and community partners,” Bendorf said. “Having the opportunity to work in the community where my family has deep roots since the 1950s, it is very humbling.”
