CHICO, CA (MPG) - Less than
a day after the California Collegiate Athletic Association announced Chico
State right-hander Evan Tomlinson its FloCollege Pitcher of the Week, the
National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association concurred with the
conference's selection and named the senior as its West Region Pitcher of the
Week on Feb. 4.
Going up against No. 5 Point Loma on Feb. 1, in game two of the doubleheader,
which was scheduled for seven innings, Tomlinson threw six innings with three
strikeouts while allowing just five runners (three hits and two walks). No
runner advanced beyond second base during his outing. The Wildcats rewarded him
with his first win as they blanked the Sea Lions 3-0 to clinch the three-game
series in San Diego.
The Wildcats look to open Nettleton Stadium for the first time in 2025 against
the reigning GNAC champions Northwest Nazarene in a three-game series. The
series is currently slated to begin with game 1 on Friday, Feb. 7 and a doble-header
on Saturday, Feb. 8. Game results were not available by press time.
